I agree with this. I think the block list is finite. And prevention is better than cure. Preventing faceless guys from messaging guys who don't like that would be a big relief.

That said, it will block out those guys who do send a picture in their initial communication. This idea has pros and cons.

I'm getting escorts with fake profiles sending me their website and phone numbers almost on a daily basis. How is this being allowed? What happened to the "No Solicitation" and "No Impersonation" rules? I've reported at least 30 such profiles, but their number has actually increased!!! Amazing that this is happening on Grindr but not on any other dating app. They make such a fuss about "No Nudity" in pictures, but they cast a blind eye to this. How can we force them to give such spam more attention?

It just needs to notify you the user wants to send a picture and tap here to view it. Just like Whisper. So you can ask "what did you send me?" Which is a valid question on Grindr.

Listen, those that choose to not post a picture do not get to sit back and have open season on those of us who do. It really is that simple. Their option would be to look at the STATS of other blank / faceless profiles and have that be their means in which they decide to interact with other users. We don't walk around in our everyday lives, some of us hiding our physical attributes and while taking away the very laws of attraction in which we use to search out a potential partner so why is it allowed here?

How is it that the anonymous get to view those of us in our community that have made the sometimes life or death decision to put ourselves out there to be as authentic and forthcoming about who we are as possible for all to see not to mention to be judged by or in some cases, stalked, targeted and placed in harms way while those who aren't at that place in life can view and make their deusing based upon credentials others can not? The anonymous end up having a larger selection to choose from based on apperance alone resulting in an uneven playing field.

The amount of fake profiles and guys claiming to be escorts but really just want money for *** are off the charts here in Houston, Texas. What happened to me last night should not happen to anybody and I'm going to have to get police officers and a local LGBT community involved. I have been chatting with this guy for a while. Every measure was taken to insure his identity and we mutually made an agreement for him to come over to my place to hang out. Not to hookup but just meet. His profile didn't have a photo all it said was his name and hit me up let's chill. I got to know him through chatting. He seems like an okay guy. So I let him into my home, he threw off some really good vibes, and then he came on to me and had *********** with me. Then he all of a sudden stood up and claims he was an escort and he needed payment. I told him that I had no idea he was an escort and then I thought he came over on his own accord. I didn't verbally hire him and we didn't make any verbal or written contracts. I apologized and said this was a miscommunication because of what is on his profile. He didn't change the right in front of me and told me to look again. I tried to argue with him but that did not work. He then got very loud about it and I told him we needed to take it outside my apartment. He shoved me away from my door and pointed a gun at me told me to stay where I was and for me to get his money. He had both my tablet and my phone and my wallet in his hands I wasn't able to screenshot anyting. So I gave him as cash and he ran out my front door. Literally I feel like I am putting myself in danger everyday talking to guys either without face pictures and for all you know they can have criminal records. I'm sorry to say but security and identification needs to be heightened on all platforms not just Grindr. There needs to be a better way to authenticate identification. Catfishing and fake profiles are at at an all-time high and you want us to pay $50 for an unlimited account? You guys got bigger problems on your hands. You put in your safety guidelines for guys to not post photos of their face? Why would you teach guys to hide their identity? We need to fight adversity and live like free Americans and not ones that live in secret. And it's only a matter of time before somebody gets hurt and you guys sued. There shouldn't be a way to hide your identity. There should only be a way to authenticate it.

Give the user the ability to block nude photos in messages before viewing them, as some of us including me do not wish to receive or see unsolicited nudes especially from unknown profiles. Its quite disrespectful to send unsolicited nudes to others without even knowing them or saying hi to them. Desperate guys who sends unsolicited nudes are many and there is a need to stop them from bothering others, if it’s possible that the developers add a new feature that identifies the nude contents and notify the receiver first that the incoming message contains nudes and wether he likes to receive or not and add the option to block immediately when the receiver rejects the unsolicited nudes

All escorts should be banned. I am fed up of being messaged by them. When you report one, they are removed, only to reappear later with a new profile. Grindr needs to do more.

I live in a city and we have loads of escorts online. I use up all of my allowance of reporting escorts every day. You report them, then an hour later they have a new profile. I pay for xtra. I want an escort free Grindr. Why can we only report 22 profiles a day? We need more to remove escorts effectively, or make xtra membership free.

You don’t need a drivers license to submit a photo ID with your name age and birth date. States issue official ID’s either way. If you don’t have one and are asked by a police officer you’re going to end up in court or with fines so that’s no excuse.

This just to keep kids under 18 who easily pass for 20-21 off grindr alone is reason enough. That a prison sentence and only a year of you’re lucky. Let people disclose that info if they want to but it should be a requirement before having an account.

There should be a feature in which you can download already uploaded photos, instead of taking screenshots.

There are four pages to click through just to report a bot... seriously? Why even have a separate button for it "this is spam" when it does exact same thing as the "report"? Just make "this is spam" bring up a single dialog "Are you sure you want to report this user for spam?" With a checkbox already checked "include last 30 messages" and then "cancel" and "report spam" buttons... this is all you have to do and it doesn't need to be full screen either.

Remove or filter profiles with 💎 in their text. Why is this emoji allowed if escort services are forbidden?
