I agree. However, adult photos aren't supposed to be anywhere on the app at all given that Grindr is listed as a 17+ app on the Google play store. This is explicit in Google's terms of services agreement. Grindr could be removed from the play store over this issue.

A HUGE safety issue. That Grindr aren't doing ANYTHING to make genuine users safe. Even reported Grindr to loca authorities due to their lack of safety features to protect people from FAKE ACCOUNTS and from people using pictures who AREN'T them.

I happen to advise many 18+ kids who are just recently discovering their sexuality. As many of us! They are lost in the whole prevention, Safe ***, drugs, and many other Problems that we encounter in Grindr.
Maybe create an icon, and Each use who is willing to answer questions to the younger crow, without filter.
People who are honest and willing to educate many of the younger crow to play safe, Talk about drugs and their signs that are posted on Grindr and to advise them without filter. Something that many of the questions they can’t ask their parents or are afraid to.
I have advise many of them, in I feel comfortable, and also advise them to seek a doctor help for better information. And I got a positive outcome and many thanks for what I’ve done.

The problem and the million dollar question with this feature is how do we implement it without allowing for the transmission of illegal content. The real problem is that this feature could be used to illegally transmit child pornography.

The problem with this is that the use of drivers license information for purposes not recognized under the applicable state law is illegal, and chargeable as a criminal offense. This would require Grindr to carefully research and abide by each state's laws in addition to the law of the state in which Grindr is hosted. This is a good idea, but it would be difficult to implement and not run afoul of criminal law.

The problem with this is that it could violate the do-not-call registry laws. If a number is on the registry, it is illegal to use that number for any business purpose unless there is a financial transaction with the consumer. There is also the issue of protecting the information from illegal disclosure to third parties.

I think the expiring photo option should be free and available to everyone. Some people do save and send other people’s pictures and I think it would provide a safer experience for people who want or NEED to remain discreet for whatever the reason may be.

The problems with verification of profiles are:

- manual verification requires humans to inspect pics and check they're not fake. That would be massively expensive

- automatic verification has technical limitations that can be worked around

- govt id based verification infringes on privacy, and would require local differences in the app

There's probably a machine-learning solution to some of this. A one time code handwritten on an uploaded photo that is never used on a profile could be read by a trained neural net.

Get rid of the spammers. Grindr we all know you are capable to complete this request. You've lost me who paid unlimited. Be kind, get rid of it. Or do you profit too much to stop the nuisance?
