A feature should be built into the app to prohibit a person's phone from taking screenshots while in-app. If not that, then in the event a screenshot is taken, the captured image is "corrupted" and cannot be viewed. And furthermore, if not that, then the original owner of the photo should receive a notification that a screenshot had been taken.

There are innumerable instances of people's photos being captured via screenshot and then recirculated throughout the community without the owner's knowledge or express permission. It is a violation of the owner's privacy and can be tangibly and intangibly damaging to the owner's life and livelihood.

These are not novel ideas, they have been mentioned before, but I believe they are worth repeating. Please consider the implications and ramifications of unauthorized screenshots and vote for this feature.

How about instead of CONTROLLING peoples features buttons like ethnicity...you actually sit there and remove all these spam and fake profiles. I get 5–9 messages a day from profiles asking me to join other websites. But no instead you choose to remove something that majority of the people use And pay for. I dont pay for the upgrade charge to be harassed by fake profiles

The problem with this is that it is an invasion of privacy. There are people that for one reason or another do not want to put their photographs on the internet. The use of the mobile number won't work well either because it's easily spoofed. The easier way to address spam and the like would be to correlate IP addresses between accounts and to block future signups after say 10 or so accounts exist under the IP. Another security improvement on this front would be to block access via the Tor network.

Many guys in here Tucson az have more than four fake profiles, most of them are druggies , insecure with their bodies and others are the plugs ( drug dealers) that use this platform as a free advertising and sale vehicle. Since grindr doesn't verify 100% of its members blocking , not allowing, or preventing thus individuals with such blank profiles from messaging and tapping legit members will avoid many members from leaving grindr to pay for a better service to other more secured websites.

Stop banning people app should create friendly atmosphere. You should not feel someone controlling you. Don’t take xyz complains and ban. Yes as humans when your in this public you come across different sort of people some one will be pushy you mite come across as bad person when you reject them may be you using different language against them but if you have policy notify them rather then banning this doesn’t help in future it creating unfriendly atmosphere I sincerely suggest stop banning people everyone deserve love and compassion always give a chance notifying show them where exactly they went wrong every person change but we need compassion to simplify their mistake. It's not the app's responsibility to uphold your subjective viewpoints. Calling people trash makes you just as petty.

They don’t want to stop it - they must be getting kickbacks. It would be trivial to do checks on simple phrases like nearguys.com it costs nothing. The fact they haven’t done it shows they don’t care. Maybe they even like it - it pumps up their user numbers.

Something needs to be done because the amount of fake profiles has gotten insane over the past few months. I think I get tapped by 10 different fake profiles a day. Some of them even have the same photo lol. They all have something like "message me with your phone number" in their profile. It's so easy to tell they're fake and I can't imagine anyone's falling for it anymore, but it's still incredibly annoying.

Btw, What is with the Ethnicity filter being removed?

I can only suspect that ethnicity filter has been removed because of the generalised “racism” being the hot topic right now.

Ironically speaking all of those filters including age, body type just to name a few, already represent a “bias in a diff sort”.

The biggest irony is Grindr is being portrayed as the top “gay/trans/bi” platform (pretty much biased in itself. So righteous fully, why would this not be a sexism in itself already by discriminating females or lesbians or the “straights”? Just saying...

It is NOT the personal preferences that make a person a racist. It is rather how you treat others starting from how you greet or politely decline any conversation shall you not want to be engaged.

Just like food preferences, some may like Italian or French or Mexican or Asian or spicy or non spicy or other cuisines. Just because you may not find a particular cuisine delicious (or being “attractive” in the context of “dating” world), it does NOT make you a racist. It’s just simply a matter of personal preferences. The filters are designed to help users to narrow down the list of people one would be interested to engage in. Nothing more than than that. To generalise ethnicity filter as racism = simply dumb and obviously it is a waste of time trawling through the endless list of people you may not even be interested to “date” with.

At least, Grindr should provide an option for the users to either cancel theIr full extra subscription & refund the money for the waste of time going through the endless list or re-state the filter?

Have to upload two photos with a particular pose, that’s a random selection. Verified by grindr like profile pics; and the profile gets a blue tick to say its been verified and not a catfish.

A lot of fake profiles are created often. To eliminate this only one profile per mobile should be allowed. If a user is trying to create a new profile from the same mobile he should be asked to delete the old profile only after which he should be allowed to create a new profile.

Also users are using fake gps to change their present location. Try something to eliminate this as well.
