Same problem here. Got banned for no reason today after years of using the app. The area I'm in has an endless amount of bots and spam, and yet, I'm the one to be banned, seemingly permanently since it is now based on my device. This is absurd.

my account and device is banned! totally unfair.. on twitter so many people are saying the same thing, by banning accounts and devices you are driving people to leave the app and join a new one! please fix it

You guys have moderators at all?
Using us, users just to moderate the contents and violators of the general guidelines, sounds cheap ( for an app that claims to be the greatest ) and the fact of reportting profiles that sell drugs, sell *** , bring racist comments, or other kind of discrimination due to political ideas, or clearly infring the rules and see how the report is under moderation after 48 hours, gives an idea of complete abandon and lack of care for the app itself.
Looks like there is an A.I. only working on rating the profile pics and the owner collectting benefits.
It has been years that this app has been cutting on services and protections for free members and charging them to get a better experience, which is far from good service at all.
Less charges and more privacy and protection through better moderation in the app, will improve and revamp the crapy club you have developped. The fact that grindr will not work if you dont give location access .....oh well, please at least copy from other apps that allow you to choose manually your own location and remain safe from harassers. ( oh 😱 right, this wont give benefits)

I’ve blocked numerous profiles only to have them reappear later and they’re messaging me again. When I select the profile, it says I’ve blocked them. If I’ve blocked them, why can I see them and why can they message me?

Please, please, please... I’m so tired of getting invites to *** parties. I’ve tried blocking offenders but the bombardment for a day was unreal.
Not good anytime but these kind of invites during Covid just isn’t good. Please sort it out!

How about you make it easier for someone drugged raped and robbed to get ahold of you. It is impossible to get ahold of you. I have been so discouraged at times. How do the police get ahold of you? I’m in Mexico, how do I obtain information about my case? Do I contact you in English or Spanish? Please help me. This happened on the 7th of July. I’ve got his fingerprints already but I need information from you to complete my case. The police here won’t do anything unless you have done the work yourself.

My account was just banned and I have absolutely no clue why. I've been using Grindr for years. I am always in line with the Community Guidelines. I had no idea I was even breaking them if that's the case, or if I was reported by a user I still have no clue why. I never got any warning. The ban screen doesn't state the violation. Grindr Support refuses to tell me the reason for the ban.
Grindr, is there any reason for this draconian level of enforcement? I've Googled around and I see I'm not the only one in this predicament. From a customer service perspective this is beyond appalling. I wish you guys would do better. You're not exactly doing any justice for the queer community with this sort of virtual rule enforcement.
Imagine being pulled over by a cop and being arrested and sent to jail and never even being told the reason. This is what this is. Extremely unfair and disappointing. -

Remove bots and spam from Grindr. It is beyond ridiculous. When creating an account, there should be "proof" provided by the user that they are not a bot.

You guys need to talk to people that you ban (investigate the issue), because it can be for a misunderstanding. It can be because that person doesn't know how to communicate because of a language barrier. I think you have to talk to people to really understand what happened.

I would like option to hidden pic profile from the profile without pics.
By this way, the grindr "force" these guys to use a pic profile. -

You ought to introduce only verified photos in the profile and messages to prevent cheating, fraud and prevent criminal abuse. For example in Taksim, Istanbul most tops want money. One, if desperate for intimacy, could consider giving, if one could afford, if it is worth it. But guys with small penises send photos of big penises, lure you with kind words, trap you and force you to give them your money and valuables. One cannot go to police, as the current ruler of the state is prosecuting all LGBT+ and one could get in trouble. Evil users even threaten of giving you out to police.

Grindr should warn before ban someone, giving the reason and the chance to change.
And NEVER ban the IMEI. That's ridiculous! -

I would like to see if there was a way Grindr can verify yourself and make a blue check mark like Instagram or Tinder. I think it will help with catfishing and fake profile. Of course, it isn’t mandatory just like Tinder. It is just a little extra step of security for Grindr users.
