I been getting a lot of spam and despite reporting it there has not been a change in the amount of spam. It seems ongoing again. It had stopped for a while.

Post or make announcements of known scams. They seem to come out with new ones on a regular basis. The current one is asking for money for an uber and/or sending money on cash app.

Remove links or info for 3rd party social media. It makes it easier to get scammed or be solicited by escorts. This is a geolocation hookup app not social media. Hookups should be easy and convenient. Adding social media makes it more complicated and makes the whole process much longer. Removing social media decreases the chance to be scammed and wasting time.

Can you please respect us enough to implement stricter screening to prevent spammers and fake profiles and please try to find a way to mandate verified profile pics. It is getting scary and unsafe for your users and you are a very popular site.

A scammer on Grindr attempted to blackmail me. Said he would post my photos and profile all over the internet. Luckily, I'm 59 and don't really care, and told him that. What is concerning is when I reported this via the Grindr info email, it took more than 3 days for a reply. Even then, it was so generic with no real concern. When I replied to it, it was another 3 days for a reply. I would like a dedicated email for issues of safety and/or financial concerns. Being passed along from CR rep to CR rep is not owning the issue for the customer.

Monitor profiles for "spam" and overly suggestive description, such as: "Fill my mouth" "Fill my hole", etc. Take away the box for "NSFW" pic's this leads to the matter of "hookups" & guys wanting to send penis or butthole photos

Grindr make zero attempt to screen out automated bot accounts from being created, it's pathetic

You don't even need a real email address to join, that's why there are so many fake profiles on here. Sites like porn hub very quickly removed unvalidated videos etc due to changes in the law, I wonder if the law applies to Grindr when a fake account is using someone's xxx pics and they aren't validated then could the owners be accountable as its obvious they are aware of the problem as its reported over and over again.
Surely they could akso put steps in place for email address to be validated (click on emailed link) to ensure email actually exists before the profile goes live, rather than the click on crosswalk, traffic lights and all the other pics

Here's an idea for you people, there should be a way to block out people who imo are most likely fake profiles existing for the mere purpose of solicitation of these "background checks / safe Meetup"sites that often charge money to join and imo these sites have no real purpose I have gotten a multitude of messages from a wide array of varied profiles all saying they want to go out with me but I have to join this site first to make sure I'm"safe"to meet up with them however I have no criminal record or violent tendencies and in any situation I'm more likely to be abused/forced to do something I don't want because of who I am (I'm a trans woman) you should also stop people who are soliciting pornography through their profile because I'm really sick of that too like I joined this app because I am looking for maybe something casual or a long-term relationship I'm not interested in in your cam show nor am i interested in a safe Meetup site which seems pretty fraudulent imo... Basically any profile that is trying to solicit users for commercial purposes you should block or ban I don't believe this app is a place to hawk your wares and services this is a place I believe for Lgbtq people to meet interact and possibly meet up in real life I am beyond sick of people trying to sell me massages pornography or get me to join some site that costs money and has no real purpose...

Ok so as a user now for many years I have in more recent times of using the app become more and more frustrated annoyed and in instances felt cheated and let down by Grindr.. I'll explain my reasoning to why I've been left with some negative and disappointing feelings by an app which I did and at times enjoy and like to use regularly daily, weekly and monthly.
Throughout my experience as a user I have opted to have the optional subscription s offered my Grindr. In many cases this has been the Xtra subscription.
I recently took ipbtge Xtra subscription on my account again and during the month where I was a Xtra subscription user I found areas which brought on the feelings of frustration, disappointment and dibal cheated and let down.
1. Spam messages and fake profiles.
As a user I have the choice to use the free service or I can pay a fee for a month subscription offering additional features and a more premium service which you would expect to receive when paying an additional fee.
Now my experience during the upgraded Xtra subscription period I found that I was receiving endless messages from fake and blank profiles which are clearly spam and or fake messages and profile/account. Neatly 3 weeks into my Xtra subscription it became apparent that Grindr was lacklng in delivering a great user experience and instead were using it's users tand taking advantage by getting users to report these spam and fake messages/Profiles ending with users having to block that profile. Now blocking these profiles wasn't so much an issue for me as I had chosen to ingrate to the Xtra subscription however as my month came to an end and I have reverted back yo a free user I find the problem is infact worse as a free user as you only receive a limited number of blocking profiles whereas an Xtra user I have a higher limit ofthe amount of blocking profiles.
As this seems to now be the way in which users are required to usehe supplication and in turn assist Gribdr in eliminating these spam profiles and messages doing the work in which Grindr should be doing, I have some ideas which would benefit both Grindrcand it's current existing users and also in increasing the number of users.
Currently users can
a) use the free service- More limited service
b) pay a high premium and enter into a reoccurring monthly subscription - more expansive service which additional features. In order to promote and push Grindr into a more easily accessible and enjoyable application then the main thing to look at and trail or adjust eould ve these upgrades and subscription options
Keep it simple and make it desirable and enjoyable.
Rather than users having to enter into san on going paiment each month which nowadays most on working to or have a set budget each month it deters user away from the upgraded services as personal finance s and circumstances can occur and it can be seen to simply stay on the free service and not need to worry about an additional monthly bill .
Now as an on going Xtra user I personally have found that I control my subscription monthly and cancel this and upgrade again as and when I can afford the additional fee. This also helps me control my fpersobal monthly inances and doesn't tie me into an on going plan.,this makes it feel like a contractual thing rather than a social application. It would be more appealing if the subscriptions were offered as a weekly upgrade at a lower more attractive price point rather than monthly upgrade at a bigger price point.
I believe that Grindr would see a larger nunber of new user along with a hugger number of users upgrading and subscribing. -

It's possible that the first part of my message either didn't get sent or it got sent without the the ending part I'm so I'll start again. I have paid accounts both on Grindr and on squirt.org on squirt every time I report a spammer they send me a message that they're going to tack on an extra free 5 days to my paid account before it renews each time I will send you an example of the most recent that they've done this way the members help monitor the site and keep it cleaner your site I must block at least 10 maybe 15 sometimes more spammers every day and you've never even acknowledged or thank me yet I've reported them to you every time I think that this would be a good incentive for people thank you I'm going to send you a copy of what they've done for me as a copy paste here
As I began to describe which I realized now is the subject line my paid membership on squirt.org the infrequent times that I experience a spammer sending me a message through their portals I report it to the management. Every time I've done that they automatically send me a message informing me that before my membership annual membership renews they will add an extra five free days for me being so considerate in helping them keeping their app running better and better for the other members. I experience spamming on Grindr probably at least 10 times a day it could be more than that and I blocked them and I report them every time but I've never once even received a compliment from the management at Grindr let alone any financial credits I think that that would be a good incentive for you to promote and and give to make your site better and and make people help you do that. That's just my opinion my name is Mark schiffman and I am have a paid membership on Grindr as well my email is MarkPTown@aol.com.
here is a copy paste duplicate of what they sent to me recently on squirt.org as a response from me reporting a spammer and this is what I'm giving you as an incentive and an example that you might want to consider for your app or on grindr.
thank youmy copied and pasted example as described:

Heres an idea GRINDR:
So why not implement a sort of password wall in order to send someone a message, where each user can set their own sort of password in order to start chat with the other user.. Make it so they only have to do it once to engage the person. In the persons profile, it can say in order to chat with this person, enter their code: [ Panther ] and when you message the person the system can reply like "What is this user's code to start chat?" and the other person types "panther" and it opens the connection between the two. Make it optional so you can either use it or turn that feature off.
See my example here: https://imgur.com/a/YVVptRb
If Grindr is really serious about preventing all this spam, this is a great way to do that.
and if they don't, it just proves all along they are part of the spam problem.
((Btw this is in no way submitted to Grindr for use without compensation or submitted through their website or in any agreement with their TOS whatsoever, at the time of this posting any TOS required to accept were not available to view on my device))

Please ask for authentication/certification with pics as Tinder to avoid creation of fake profiles. Do not allow users to create profile without a clear face pic checked as tinder do. To many fake profiles.
