Users should have private photo galleries to unlock for specific users. It is easier than sending pictures in chat. It would also help cut down on photo collecting/stealing. Include an album relock feature, of course.

Could also give access to social media account to scan profile photos or something to build a better database of what your face looks like, similar to how Apple has you enter your finger print multiple times to build the record.

Theres an app called surge that impliments this process and i cant begin to tell you how great it is to not be getting catfished 24/7. Grindrs biggest problems are fakes.flakes and pic collectors. Adding an option to tell when your pics are being screenshoted would be good too

The ability to block a user permanently - even if they delete their profile and then readd it later. I’ve wasted 100s of blocks on the same flakes who habitually delete and readd their profiles.

Give some profile with verified logo. Blued is good actually.

Live camera to verify against uploaded photos. Start with face verification. Move to body in phase 2. Even if the technology isn’t quite there, could still to a percentage verification (i.e. “this photo is 75% verified” or “Grindr is 75% sure that the image being shared is of the same person that created the profile”). Could even turn into dating photos (I.e. this photo received an 80% verification rating 2 weeks ago”) to give a rough validation that someone is as fit or young as they appear in photos.

Get rid of all spam and fake profiles.

Validate profiles, make people prove they are real. I have someone touch their nose to see if the picture they are using is them or not.
