I've yet to see anything done about underage or obvious spam accounts. I get Grindr is cheap and wants to employ the minimum needed to run the app, but it's not working out for them. Do some kind of in-depth process to get some volunteer moderators out there that can help sort and push through reports to paid employees.

If people don't show a face pic, or have a face pic in their private collection, they should be banned. Too many fake profiles on here

If it means cutting down on all the fakes and catfish profiles, yes put in this feature. The rest of us shouldn't have to have our time wasted by insecure people with too much time on their hands. The BS is out of control and right now that's a larger issue. If you're in an area that it's not safe to be out in, then the app wouldn't be for you. If you're worried because you're cheating on your spouse, stop being a douche; the app wouldn't be for you.

I think another problem is Grindr has no interest in policing their own app and want to skirt by doing the bare minimum. Speak their language (money) and it might actually trigger some results with the app. Right now though, us complaining on here isn't going to solve anything. The catfish/fakes are out of control. Require a verified email address, verified picture.

Anytime I see a picture that has location disabled and it looks grainy, that's a dead giveaway and there are tons of them. Also give us an upvote/downvote so we can warn others of flakes and fakes. Not sure why gay men are so obsessed with playing games online, makes me wonder how many guys actually get any on here.

Profile verification can be done by requiring a photo with a randomly generated code that must be hand written with the date. No reason to require users to share the ID which require more security.

I would say you should require the photo to be taken with the grindr app to be uploaded to help prevent photoshopped images.

The only issue is that Grindr only allows you to have one photo and you can only verify to one photo so anytime someone changes it you have to reverify.

Nowadays I don’t know whether grindr is more into dates and fun or into getting to buy weed, cocaine (or any other drug), or a massage service.
It’s really annoying to face every 1 or 2 typical grindr profiles, one that is intended to provide drugs or services.
I’m thinking on erasing this app, since it’s not more what is was in the past.

The best feature I can think of for Grindr to offer in the future is Verified Profile. Pick a method of verifying identity of users, multiple layers, email, phone number/text verification, drivers license photo comparison, etc. all in the background. A VERIFIED PROFILE ✔ could appear on profiles that have passed the verification standards.

I find this very annoying I always have to post more photos to the person I’m writing to, better if you just could post more photos on you’re profile right a way.

(This would just be a option if you wanna show more photos)

It would be nice if there was an easier way to organize your personal pictures. A library under settings that you could easily upload and rearrange pictures that you send.

For those of us who are sick and tired of replying to faceless profiles to ask for a face pic despite having indicated "NPNC" in our bio (No Pic No Chat), we should be able to turn on an NPNC feature that allows only profiles with a face pic to start a chat with us. Faceless profiles will not be able to send us a message until they send a face pic to initiate the chat.

There NEEDS to be some method of verifying that the person's profile pic is genuine. The amount of catfish in play on this app is a plague. It's impossible to know for sure, but I believe I am sent messages by fraudulent profiles on the order of 2x more than legitimate ones. There's a LOT of people misrepresenting who they are by using photos of different people. There's a ton of ways profile verification could be done. First, make it optional. That way it doesn't **** off the users who want to remain completely anonymous. I'd wager a decent bet that those of us who use this app legitimately will want to be able to prove to others we are who we say we are, and seek the same in return. It doesn't need to involve any personal information. Make it a multi-factor verification. Nothing will be completely bulletproof, but, something that would involve locking a profile to hardware by IMEI plus a face pic taken with the camera (lock out camera roll) in some sort of requested pose that is then stored and fingerprinted. Then the user could additionally opt-in to more advanced stuff... Some ideas: use facial recognition to prevent other people from trying to dupe someone already verified and locked by IMEI to a different profile in the system. Allow the user to prevent photos they've sent from ever being sent again by a different profile (more image recognition). Allow the user with the verified profile to optionally verify additional photos they send in messages by forcing the 'verified' pics be sent directly from the camera (no camera roll) - this to add some authenticity to pics not involving the face. Again, all of this stuff being optional. Not offering the choice of anything whatsoever at present is killing the "community" right now.

Maybe add a keyword/phrase chat search so anyone that does the "I'd like to meet up but first I need to verify you on a legit site" scam can get insta banned.
And actually ban them totally, not just the account, record the imei and any other device uuid to permanently ban them.
Scammers and people selling drugs should not be tolerated AT ALL, unlike the current situation.

Stop fake profiles yeah. But don't force connecting to social media.

Verify a profile that's real by having a system that anonymously allows other users to verify a user's profile after they meet..

Make users verify who they are before approving their profile. Other apps do this and you should too. Stop allowing users to create and delete and then re-ceeate new profiles so easily. This opens the app to abuse

Find a way to remove spam profiles and profile authentication.

Ban users that create multiple accounts to get Xtra features. Is useless to block them when anyone is allow to cheat. Other apps have the ability to do it by pulling device info.

Automatically block users who create multiple accounts or keep deleting and re/installing the app and starting over. It is insane that some guys create a new account every day — same games, new profile, block them again and they still come back! One profile per cricket human!

Not everyone is in a safe place either geographically or due to circumstances. Those that don’t talk to people just cos they don’t have face as profile pic are being insensitive
