..I am shocked, but not necessarily surprised that grindr does not have stricter and stronger age verification security methods..there are obvious underage profiles on this site; yet what is more concerning is this is one of the LOWEST voted or suggested subjects under feature request about this very serious matter.

Something like this needs to be introduced to tackle the trolls. Some really threatening fake accounts have been popping up alarmingly frequently lately, enough to make me consider using the app altogether unless something is done. As an app based on location, im worried that at some point someone looking to do some harm to someone in our community will be able to identify and track down someone through Grindr and instead of just threatening people actually do some real harm.

Grindr must start getting a hang of all these fake accounts!! Introduce a verification process with SMS text plus verified email address. If people fail to produce verification don’t allow them to open a profile!!

You currently block the word bareback so why are drugs and chems which are illegal rife on Grindr allowed, can’t you block the words drugs and chems as there are a lot of it in my area, Thanks :)

Is their a way you can have everyone verify they profiles Before uploading any photos to keep everyone safe. That will be very helpful and it will help to improve Grindr thanks

A cellphone video recording feature that records 5-10 secs of live video directly from our cellphone that we can send to the person we're interested in would work great as a way to verify to them that we're legit! Consider adding a 5-10sec video recording feature. Something short & quick so we can say Hi and prove we're real. That would be a great feature to get rid of all doubt. Thanks.

Make it optional obviously, there are safety concerns for some.

I would have a multi step verification as well, sending in a photo with a unique code only Grindr knows, possibly a copy of credit card to prove legal age; or even a piece of ID.

Sounds a little inconvenient, but so is talking to a fake profile for days, or even weeks before realizing you’ve been scammed.

Overall I would be so much happier with the app! I currently have to ask everyone I’m unsure about for Snapchat to verify, it’s beyond annoying.

Grindr, please come up with some sort of verification! Make sure verified users are clearly marked as well!

Have each profile attached to a verification code upon creation, The user must write it on a paper and load a photo to it and send it to the staff with a pic of their state ID (private info blackened out aside from name and birthday of course)

This lets the user be anon if they wish but this would add a security feature to keep people from making fake accounts, being underage, stealing info, cat fishing, etc.

Grindr really needs to ***** down on this B/S because its ridiculous to find out someone is either using your pics, are underage, pretending to be someone else and so on.

Once approved their info and code is filed, if a new profile is requested and the name matches one on file, staff would look it up and compare the face (if its the same person) and they were banned for breaking the rules, then their new account would be rejected.

Clean up Grindr!

I paid $1,800 as a result of a sextortion scam that started with an "18 " year old on Grindr. After I freaked and paid the "dad" to replace a broken computer to stop him and his wife from going authorities. I may be out another $1,200. They used Green Dot MoneyPak as the anonymous way to pay them. When you are threaten you react rather than think. It was only afterwards that I started Google searches and learned this is a worldwide scam. I feel so stupid. I dropped Grindr.

You have blocked massages and those types of things but haven’t blocked any of the drug stuff... seems a little silly

Since there are more and more escorts on Grindr, why not allow escort accounts AND be able to indicate as such in the profile. Then you add a FREE filter, escort or non-escort. So everyone is happy. Normal users have access to normal people, and customers to escorts. And Grindr continues to have paying customers.

These icons will confirm to users that a profile has been verified by the Grindr mods. This will eliminate any further suspicion & reporting of that profile.

When we click on a photo we sent in a chat, we should be able to swipe through all the other photos we've sent, just like we can swipe through all the photos we've received. Having to open each photo one-by-one is a hassle. Please keep the 'sent' and 'received' photos separate, just make the 'sent' group swipable like the 'received' group. Thank you

New spam scam: use word/phrase filters to block spam: current new spam scam in profile: “not looking for anything serious just a good time”. Specific phrase being used as only phrase in profile. All spam/scam. Mine are approx 11 miles from me, same as what used to be directing to other website, and always as the “new” guys at top of screen. Should be able to screen them out using a phrase search/block.

I cannot log in or sign in to my existing account

Instead of us writing "no pic no chat" on our profiles but STILL continuing to get messaged by picless profiles, can't you just make this a setting? It will quell a lot of our frustration and probably encourage people to post profile pics.
