I get about 15 or more bots a day and it’s frustratung. It’s making this app less and less appealing and I’ve been a paid member for several years.
The bots don’t say how far away they are in most cases. And locals trying to chat that you’ve never chatted with before also sometimes don’t say a distance. You should make it mandatory that there is a picture and a distance on their profile so we have a hope that we know if they are real or not.
I’ve deleted so many, what I think are bot, messages that I’m not sure if some weee from locals or not.The other thing you should do is send out messages letting us know how to determine if we are chatting with a bot or not. Give tips on what to ask and what information not to give them. Some people are new to this app and the on line hook up world and might be giving these bots access to information they shouldn’t have. It’s your app and you should be protecting your members, paid or not paid ones.

If you are talking about advertising spam. You just need to purchase Xtra for it to disappear. Generally development isnt free so they need to find ways to compensate, if your 18 or over you should be a working professional and not worry about subscriptions.

Accounts need to be verified, the best way of verifying accounts is using a third party like Facebook login.
Faceless on the grid is a different issue but stopping fake accounts would remove a lot of that as well. Some apps however have options to filter profiles with photos only, hopefully facial recognition will start picking up only the ones with a face photo.

In my area a lot of people charge for services: masseurs, prostitutes, vendors etc. Also there are people mentioning explocitly illicit drugs such as cocaine or popper. I report many people every day, but the’re still there. Why? I hope rules to be truly applied and such profiles banned by default.

You all keep suspending my account without further due process and without telling me what I’m doing wrong. It’s unfair that you do that. At least have the audacity to tell the truth.

I agree. Last night, within one hour, I received about ELEVEN messages from different bots. They lol say the same thing, their profiles are vague, and their photos are blurry. Obvious spam. Is there something that can be done to help fight this problem? It is becoming a pain. As I typed this, I had TWO spam/bot messages.

When you report a spam bot you should automatically block them so it doesn't count as your limited blocks you give a day. Just an idea.... Because it's making this less fun. Oh, or just STOP THEM lol

I have this same problem. Saw an Ad on Grindr about Body Shaming and you guys are doing it!!! Just because I am not chiseled enough for you my photo is rejected? I have had one certain picture as my profile all summer and now all of a sudden after changing my picture and wanting to go back to it is is being rejected. I even went as far as cropping out my bulge still rejected. Tried a picture of me with a towel around my waste; rejected. I have seen pictures of guys almost nude down to below their happy trail but I can't have the same picture because I'm not chiseled? Come on Grindr get your act together.

Biggest problem with this app. People have pictures up that they even admit, after wasting my time, that isn't them. A , 60 year old guy pretending to be my age? People getting away with phising for photos? You don't provide much with a paid subscription and the people keeping you in buisness should be your main concern. Subscription based profiles should also have specifial badge or something so they stick out from the rest.
It's getting worse too.

Grindr has a huge problem that other social apps don’t have—bots. Fake accounts will message you from hundreds of miles away looking for true love. They are scam artists who try to develop an online friendship, and then ask for money… I canceled my membership because I get 3-4 taps or messages from fake accounts every day. Not worth The hassle.

I almost agree. but ake it before someone contacts me he has to send a face picture. some guys are DL, fine... but if they want to make contact with me because they are attracted to the face picture i have posted, then have the guts to show me who u are and not hide and wait for me to ask for it. u chose to contact me, i show my face and shouldnt have to ask for u to show me who u are. if ur that chicken then stay in the coop and leave the adult, self confident among us along or grow a set and a backbone to show urself to who u want to send a message.

Currently in Au 1 in every 2 profiles is basically fake or some old lonely pedo wanting attention. Getting a little tired of the BS frankly
