******* annoying. Yes please let us chose if we want to be taped or not. I am traveling and look real meetings. Whenever I go online I get like 5 taps, no messages, just time wasted. I am using another app because of this. I am hating Grindr and this stupid feature. The continuous spammy tap notifications are another horrible thing. Grindr 👎🏽!

A feature that allows users to turn taps on or off. that way those of us who do not likes taps can refuse to receive them.

Taps are not helpful at all. I want someone who will engage and if they can't simply say hi then leave me alone... so annoying.

I think the profiles should have an option to deactivate taps (as Manhunt did) The taps are not useful to contact to someone and could be good to have the option to deactivate if the user don't want to receive it.

so just to see whats what i keep track for a 7 day period an got 734 taps all the taps profile used a real name cody erron or micheal bale an all sent an emoji an so i randomly replied to 100 an all 100 was spam “probably grindr staff” lol working on advertising companies pay for on grindr lol taps are pointless unless you like spam lol wasting your time lol

Spamming bots are using TAPS to make a user initiate a chat just to find out it's a bot. This was the worst idea next to the pronoun nonsense.

Can we just block the users that have "no taps" in their profile? It's a feature of this app, I like it. If you don't check your taps, don't get so butthurt about it, just ignore it.

A tap at least has a point behind it. Stop expecting people to start conversations and send you what you want and grow up. Ignore them if you don’t like their profile. Message them if you do. They already made the first step easy for you and you whine.

Profiles without anything in them shouldn’t be able to tap at most but again. Be realistic.

You guys are stupid... if your entire argument is "tap = I'm mildly interested" Well guess what, same can be said for "hi" in your inbox... also bots tapping... last time I checked they message too... so the problem isn't the tap feature, but the fact that bots exist.. removing taps won't make bots go away. Last but not least Tap usually means interest... it's just a quick way of saying hi... Because there is nothing worse than inbox full of unreplied openers... No it's much better to just tap and if the guy is interested he can tap back and then you message him.. that way it's much more likely to get actual replies.
Also the "Tap=block" profiles... I don't tap them because I didn't read their bio, I tap them because they are so annoyed and petty about this and IDGAF if he blocks me because sometimes the trash takes out itself. Fun fact: if it's a cute guy who tapped you, you don't give a fuck if he tapped or said hi, you will message him.
