    Some of us are more nuanced that 250 characters allows for. I personally know in order to convey my interests and also curb what I don’t want, I need more room to talk about myself and what I’m in to. I don’t know why exactly all these sites and apps have taken to such limited profiles, but some of us aren’t afraid to talk about ourselves because we recognize the value in being up front and honest. I don’t want people I’m not interested in wasting my time nor do I want to waste the time of others who are similar in their selection of potential partners. Also, why do you limit things that you know we’re here looking for? Grindr is a hookup platform whether Grindr wants to acknowledge it or not. It’s what 99.999999% of people are here for. Just like Tinder. I get that you don’t want dongs flopping out in profile pics or even overtly aggressively sexual headlines, but not allowing us to communicate honestly in our profiles is a detriment to the platform and the community serves.

13. Treat weight and size shaming as hate speech

    Too many times have I had unsolicited diet advice, told to lose weight, reminded that I could have health affects or been told my body type was unattractive. People will say they aren’t into overweight people directly at or on rheir profiles. This is hate speech and should not have a place on safe dating platform.

    Many profile images, (and more each day) have brought me uncomfortably close to vomiting. none of these users are seeking gay men.
    If the intent is to discourage people from touching themselves, it has been extremely effective.

    in the context of blocking users for the purpose of maintaining arousal and being able to keep food down, here are my suggestions..

    Blocking is a 3-click, slow process that often fails. The failures are code defects stemming from the app’s architecture.. because the app is overloaded
    Time and effort required by the user and the burden on the client and server could be cut in half by simply separating trans female (and those seeking them) into a cloned app with its own database.

    As it is, I have to look dead center at every disturbing profile photo in order to hide it. (Assuming the block succeeded the first time)

    Block should be one-tap, the profile image should immediately go away, the client should verify the block after posting to db, and a temporary text box should inform the user when the block is successful, along with an undo button that fades away over a few seconds.

    For blocking stalkers and similar people that keep coming back under another account, it should be part of the profile moderation/reporting feature. This is also an easy mod, not just UI, but also the implementation of an algorithm to identify users by MAC or IP address, location and certain other data
