1. Allow for in-app purchases without Apple App Store

   I occasionally pay for Xtra. Unfortunately, as someone on an iCloud family plan- I quickly learned that my “plan organizer” gets emailed receipts from all members (regardless of me paying with Apple gift cards). This means my mom has been getting my Grindr receipts, which is a huge privacy concern.

   As such, I’ve had to leave my family plan and request to rejoin any time I want to pay for a boost or membership. However, even that doesn’t feel secure since the receipt doesn’t seem to be sent out until the membership ends, which means I sometimes have to leave my family plan for months at a time.

   Tinder recently added the option of adding a card in-app for purchases, so users aren’t restricted to paying via the App Store. Please bring this feature to Grindr! It would improve the experience for me in a major way and make it easier to support the app.

Everything happens very fast here, people meet and go out with others they don’t really know, encounters happen at homes, parties, on the streets, at events, and many times this involves real risk. There’s a lack of a simple tool inside the app that truly helps protect users. Something practical, like an in-app emergency button, location sharing when going to meet someone, the option for check-ins before and after the meeting, behavior risk alerts, a secure meeting history, a trusted profile badge, and a stronger system against scams and fake profiles. Having the option for check-ins before or after a meeting adds real quality to the app and real safety for users, creating a layer of care and protection without harming the experience. It’s not about controlling people, it’s about giving users more security and peace of mind. Grindr is already part of people’s real social lives, not just a dating app, so safety needs to be part of the experience. 6. Return the full use of albums to Xtra subscribers

   Why did you recently(June 17 2025) remove the ability for Xtra Subscribers to send, have and view unlimited albums. We are paying for Grindr to have “Xtra” resources on the platform. The price to pay for Xtra is damn near as much as the unlimited subscription.

    The Problem: We often spot someone on the grid while driving or working but can't chat immediately. By the time we are free, the user is gone.
    The Solution: A "Rewind" button to see a static snapshot of the grid from 1-12 hours ago.
    Why: It solves missed connections and increases engagement. Great potential as an Xtra/Unlimited feature.
    Safety: Only show "Was nearby at [Time]", never real-time distance for past views.

    I’m a long-time Premium subscriber, and I expect a smooth, well-designed, and logical app experience in return for the amount I pay. Unfortunately, Grindr continues to fall short in multiple ways. These are serious pain points that need immediate attention:

    Favourites used to exist as a separate, accessible grid—clean and user-friendly. Now, it has been moved into the Filters menu, which is confusing and inefficient. To view my favourite profiles, I need to clear all active filters. This completely defeats the purpose of saving favourites for quick access. It’s poor design and needs to be reversed. Please restore the Favourites grid as a dedicated, one-tap-access feature.

    1. Expiring Photos Still Glitch and Crash the App

    Sending an expiring photo regularly causes the app to freeze, lag, or crash altogether. This has been a persistent bug for a long time, yet remains unaddressed. It’s unacceptable that a core interactive feature causes such major disruption—especially when it’s part of the Premium offering. This should have been resolved long ago.

    Previously, if a user was offline and I sent them a message, it would show as “Sent.” This small feature helped users understand someone’s availability.     • Verified Profiles Only: Filter by voice/photo/video verified users
    • Kink/Fetish Filters: (BDSM, dom/sub, feet, etc.)
    • Availability: “Free now,” “Later,” or “This weekend”
    • Lifestyle Preferences: Smoking / drinking filters
    • Custom Distance Input: Type exact km or miles
    • Language or Ethnicity: Optional filters for cultural comfort
    • Filter by Photo Type: (Face-only, NSFW, album shared)
    • Sorting Options: Distance, Age, Last Seen, etc.

    These filters would drastically improve search accuracy and user satisfaction, especially for those paying for Premium access.

20. Remove explore restrictions on Xtra subscription

    Xtra now only allows tapping or messaging 5 profiles while exploring. This is such a bummer given the subscription amount we pay for this service. Now I need to upgrade to Unlimited version which is way too costly for exploring.
