Or add tags to them so you can filter them. Some on my favorite list don't have a photo so i have to click them to see who they are and remember. If there were a tag (or two) below their thumbnail, I would know.

I agree. I see profiles that say "no white guys" or "No one over 35" so I would like to remove them from my feed. It's fine if they still want to see me or send me a message. But I just don't need to see them if I know they are not interested in me.

  3. Have a way to filter out bots solicitation and scams

If you could display how many days the user has been a member, and if the user is a paid member, we can quickly identify what profiles might be fake. I have had the same profile for a few years, so that should tell people something about me. Sure, some people might create an account when they travel, but then that's for the other user to decide how to deal with someone who says they are traveling. I know local guys who create accounts, then delete them after a few weeks and create new accounts (and both turned out to be flakes who no-showed). Also, I get messages from people who are OFFLINE! Thats a sure sign that its a scammer. And I know who is a scammer sometimes from the message (starts with some lame joke) so people who have been members should be given some priority when they flag a spam account and maybe that account is suspended immediately (and if it's not a spam account then the reporting user should be 'downgraded' in their spam reporting 'value' if that makes sense.) Like if I flag 20 accounts for spam and they are all really spam accounts, then my future reports should be prioritized. So the spammers get kicked faster. I flag spammers, I don't just flag anyone I don't like.

not sure how this would work. esp with so many users. spammers could photoshop images (with the handwritten code), and once the acct is verified, the user could change everything (photo, stats, location, etc.).

What might be better is to identifiy users who paid. spammers/scammers aren't going to pay -- identify montly and annual plan) and payment (at least of IOS) is linked to an iTunes acct. Also might be good to know how long the acct has been active. I had one guy who kept creating an acct every few days and kept contacting me with the new acct. Very strange.

And users could see who is a paid member and not, how long they have been a grindr user. And have the option for users to turn this off in areas of the world where it could be dangerous, or used against them. Maybe verified users could give other users a 'checkmark' when they know the other user is real, but that could be used by spammers to create one verified acouunt to verify others. but maybe if those secondary user are flagged as spam/fake, then the original veriified user could get banned from making those verification and his other 'checks' would be removed. Very complicated tho.
