I say bring it back. If someone isn't going to fuck a specific race then why go through the extra effort of having to look at pictures which some don't post. It does ZERO harm to have that button. If they were passing on you before they still will after.

They should allow for complete filtering of race. If you're not attracted to a certain race, you're not gonna fuck them even if you have to scroll past 50 guys. It doesn't force anyone to message outside their preferences, it only forces some to doom scroll.

Attraction doesn't have an age but race is different. Someone could be 40 and appear in their 20's which would be fine. However with age, I've never met a white guy who appeared to be black or vise versa. I think if people will refuse to fuck a certain race then the filter saves them the time scrolling. It doesn't increase the odds of anyone getting chosen.
