An error occurred while saving the comment Two factor authentication is simple and effective. Content in Grindr is extremely sensitive, and I wish I could protect it better. If I can add 2FA to Facebook where I just post cat pics, why can't I add it to Grindr where I post **** pics? Sure I have the option to not do that, but then I might as well just try hooking up over Facebook lol

If Grindr has created fake profiles that leverage LLMs or other chatbot technology to interact with users, then yes absolutely that needs to be consented to as well. I am referring to the settings that enable Grindr to use the sensitive personal information of users to train unknown models. If Grindr was more open about what these models were used for, like perhaps trying to understand racial bias with it, then I may be more supportive of such collection. But if they plan to use it to create things like the aforementioned chatbots, then since that serves no societal purpose and would only worsen the loneliness epidemic, then no data collection should be taking place at all. Thus, users need to be aware about these data collection settings.
