Faking where you're at is helping the phishers, scammers & spamming, getting annoying as heck lately, all the while disrupting the millions of subscribers "grinding" their "reality based" motivations meeting other real men. Men who use Grindr for their own profit/promo/income are violating the T.O.S. for what it was designed to be, social meeting for gay men with an emphasis on real life companionship. making the scam/spam profiles harder to be approved and/or alerting established Grindr users of the incoming messages/taps arent typical/suspicious looking for people claiming their connection is in your locality. Us "reality based" users who've Been on Grindr since iPhone 3G came out, who subscribe, tap on revenue generating ads, also need to be the corporations developmental teams main focus.
Other apps started a required verification of being over 18 Years old & actually being identifiable with a minimum 1 clear Face picture wouldn't hurt either. Theres ways for the scammers to work around these requests, but its harder than most Americans will put in the effort to make their profile look legit, even tho its just thirst trapping for some pay website/App.
Three requests....
1. No Mock Location Apps on PC/iPhone/Android
2. Unique Identifiers in Real Time for Verification
3. Physical Proof of Government Issued ID for Americans or those connecting to Grindr with IP Addresses originating from the USA or an United States territory
