    Someone else commented on here "It is a manslaughter charge to sleep with some one who is negative and you're + and not protected or undetectable
    Having those of us who are negative know is a requirement for the health act" and I think that missed the point of this post. People should still inquire about status and communicate clearly about status and take appropriate steps to ensure their safety, but requiring an HIV STATUS to be selected before you can save the last tested date doesn't have anything to do with that.

    I was going to post the same thing. There are more things to be tested for than HIV, so having the date not save just because HIV STATUS is not entered is inappropriate. It's also bad user interface design: if you're going to require HIV STATUS in order to set a date, then just hide the date field unless an HIV STATUS is selected. But I'd prefer if the fields were just independent of each other so you can enter or not enter any combination of the two without a cross-check.
