    Just like homosexuals are not attracted to females, not everyone is attracted to every other race. It is not always a racist reason, it's more of the same thing as not being attracted to your grandmother.
    There are people who are attracted to very old men or young men, fat or skinny, dark or light skinned, etc. We don't control who we are attracted to (age, race, height, weight, etc.) anymore then we control being heterosexual, bisexual or homosexual.
    We need the filter so we can find guys who may be "the one" without going through guys who 100% definitely are not "the one".
