A way I like someone to verify that they are real is to ask them to hold up x number of fingers in front of their face (or torso) that matches their profile picture. This eliminates photoshopping e-mail addresses, is very easy to do, could be programmed as a random number generator, and Grindr could also use peer review of those photos by users in different geographic areas to verify those photos. Grindr could distribute and gamify the verification process instead of having to hire a moderation team.
