So why not implement a sort of password wall in order to send someone a message, where each user can set their own sort of password in order to start chat with the other user.. Make it so they only have to do it once to engage the person. In the persons profile, it can say in order to chat with this person, enter their code: [ Panther ] and when you message the person the system can reply like "What is this user's code to start chat?" and the other person types "panther" and it opens the connection between the two. Make it optional so you can either use it or turn that feature off.
If Grindr is really serious about preventing all this spam, this is a great way to do that.
and if they don't, it just proves all along they are part of the spam problem.
