Boost is BULLSHIT
The new Boost feature is utter bullshit. People pay a few to appear at the top of other people's grids? Okay... so they're paying to take up space on the grid that could be occupied by other people who are closer? That's utter shit.
If you don't pay for xtra or unlimited, you only have a certain number of available people on the grid anyway so having them taken up by people who are 3 miles away is shit. But then if you ARE paying for Grindr, it's also out of order that just because somebody paid a tiny fee to appear at the top of your grindr grid, then your experience is now marred by these people who are MILES away. Grindr, fix this. It's annoying AF.

I can't believe I'm reading these comments This is a fucksite It's not even at the level that's the ones that you have to pay a monthly fee for and guess what it keeps the riff raff out All these sites are the same they give you a little bit for free and then they wack at who you arexactly what I'm saying if you notice when the prices went up and they quit giving the little freebie stuff if because I believe grinder is number one you're his number 1 and the amount of money that we're racking in every mind is astronomical Because they don't hardly charge anything I mean I hope some of these people on here don't expect to find wonderful Prince charming there's a possibility or Mrs. Charming And you want these companies to give you everything give you this option to that do this that costs money to maintain so now we know why extra Costco Or they offered better deals but they don't have to anymore they've rid the cream has risen to the topmatch Very simple tools through social media to find somebody to have fun with that's all it is should ever be and that's not even doing that well I wish everyone the best best but don't look at this as anything than what it is I'll 40 bucks a month and the question here and what you're required to do keeps out the referral There's no direct contact and show you can look at theirs they can look at yours and you decide but that all costs money If you really wanna meet somebody put your phone down turn it off go to the library go to the church go to art museum go to a single wine tasting Get off the phone Go back to sitting in a bar for half an hour at least you could see and talk but oh no now they're doing texting in the bars now And the excuse is oil living in a small area and we're just screwed

I’ve been on Grindr for 12 years and this new grid algorithm, Boost has been the worst update ever released.

I personally believe, certain features should be a paid features from the app producer.
However, I remember a long time ago, the first time there was a premium service being available to the public, it was fully price.
The price for an ultimate experience is now at $40+ per month is super ridiculous and we’re taking about a hookup site.
If this was a potential dating site rather then just hooking up, then maybe I would be more interested and invested in paying the $40+ per month. Then again, I don’t believe in paying for a fortune for anything digital.
I would never pay for a dating/hookup site or app. I don’t get enough results anyways. This would be the main factor

Ridiculous feature for paid users. At the very least allow paying users to disable seeing boosted profiles just like you can toggle online / offline users.
Also highlight the fact that there are boosted by an icon or coloured border and enforce a distance to be shown.
I'll stop paying and move on if I am forced to see profiles offering ma55ages and seeking reward$.

So many fake profiles we see when Boosting. It’s fraud and illegal
Totally agree - 'boost' is just wrecking the grid. It's screwing up the whole basis of a geolocation-based hookup app! Just get rid of it, please.

Grindr extra and now I’m seeing guys on top of my grid who are not even close

Easy workaround for Boost: just block them.
As a side effect of this, if guys start getting blocked when they Boost, nobody will Boost anymore, and Grindr will take the hint and drop the feature.
I am getting fed up with boost appearing all the time and then taking to the top of the nearby screen, everytime, I can't get rid of it, no matter what I dout just keeps on coming up. Please delete it or I will have to delete as I just don't have the time to waste on it anymore.
I am paying for Grindr extra and now I’m seeing guys on top of my grid who are not even close. When they have the distance function deactivated you end up chatting to someone to only found out later that they are Kilometers away. It’s really a shitty move for people who pay for the app - which isn’t by the way cheap at all. Get rid of this please!!
$39.99 a month for unlimited and we need to see a bombardment of this stupid boost feature as if the unlimited price is already expensive. No ads should mean no ads from Grindr too.

I just spent over 20 minutes writing out two notifications and both vanished after I did it it asked me for the verify my email as soon as I did that everything was gone.
So I'm going to make this brief, I was on your site for a very long time if you look at my account you'll see that here in Michigan and in Florida.
I just spent $2.99 for a 1 hour boost.
But even with the boost I couldn't reply to people in my inbox or who tapped me so it was useless all I could do was see the people well if I can't respond to him or get a hold of him what's the good of that.
You should let people know right up front before they spend money what the site doesn't doesn't do. Then you should also give something up front to make people want to pay the money on your site you make it very hard to get a hold of people that look at you or tap you almost every other one that makes you want to sign up and spend money. That's putting the cart in front of the horse I stopped using squirt because they're awful it's one of the worst websites I've ever seen but they do the same thing.
You're asking people for money without providing a service up front to show value in spending the money.
I had people tonight try to get a hold of me and I couldn't get back to them.
So I believe signing up for the boost for the hour allow me to do that doesn't say it doesn't or wouldn't but it does not it's not a lot of money but I never use the feature I'd like the $2.99 credit to my account and I'll use it in the future.
And show people what the site can do let them talk to people back and forth for a couple of days and then charge them money.
By myself will never spend a dime on the site until things are corrected.
I read a lot of the reviews and there are many many of them that are exactly the same as what I'm saying so I would think that you guys would take heed to your clients and try to improve the interactions between the clients and your website.
I'm sure nothing will come of this but doesn't hurt to try.
What's the old saying you can skin a sheep once or share it many many times. So obviously want people to be around for years keep spending the money so you can share them and not skin them up front to make sure they don't want to use your site or spend any money.
Sometimes you'll pay and it works fine, sometimes you pay and it does nothing. It is VERY obvious when it's working because there'll be an instant influx of views. It seems like a ripoff that it doesn't always work and it also might be borderline illegal for you to ask money for a service that you're not providing.
With extra you would think looking st whos viewed me. Cause boosts is 10$ and I bombed with massive taps an messages from people that done read my profile. Kinda annoying

The cost of using boost has suddenly gone up tremendously after using it manier times
Please decrease the cost
Boost is just a greedy money making scheme dreamt up by Grindr. It's in complete contradiction to the Explore function. Now when I search an area I'm going to visit I end up seeing profiles from guys who are nowhere near there. Why am I paying for Unlimited just be greeted by guys at the top of my grid who are miles away?. Come on Grindr, come up with some other money grabbing idea that doesn't spoil the use of the app for others.

I think boost is a great idea but it’s expensive too. I’ve had a few hits on there. Can you give incentives in price reduction for discounts or something as many times as you’ve ordered it to make user want to use the feature more?
Right. It is bullshit. I'm an unlimited member. So the $30 I pay each month doesn't include this feature? That's horse shit! Here's a great way to get yourself boosted. Change one of your photos. Then puts you in the "Fresh" section for a while and you will get a lot of profile views (if guys find you interesting). I do that a lot. I change a photo and then all of a sudden I start getting more views, more taps and more messages without paying another $10.

Totally agree. Thought it strange that the 1st square is taken by someone 9km away and not on my doorstep. I cannot imagine why anyone would pay extra for this seriously flawed service. I pay the monthly Xtra subscription, but will be canceling it soon unless this nonsense desists.
