I joined Grindr with the hope of meeting other cis gay guys to maybe make friends or something more, but I continuously am bombarded by women and trans people. It's extremely frustrating. I would like for Grindr to go back to its roots as a platform for cis gay men only. This is a platform that's supposed to be for cis gay men only, but Grindr feels it needs to bow down to society and be "all inclusive". This effectively squashes Grindr's status as a platform and safe space specifically for cis gay men and allows for us to be preyed on by those who wish to turn us straight or fetishize us. Why not create different branches of Grindr, like a Grindr for Bisexuals, a Grindr for Women, a Grindr for Trans, a Grindr for Non-Binary, etc.? That's the more appropriate option than letting us be victims of malicious people, all in the name of "inclusion". The developers/creators have essentially put Grindr in the toilet, which is a shame because it's a great app (bot accounts, ads, and the occasional escort solicitation aside). Please take Grindr back to its roots as a platform for cis gay men only.

This application was designed for men seeking men. Period. I'll reiterate. Men. Seeking. Men. There are women on here seeking men. See the issue? It's called Tindr or whatever else they use.

I'm also all for empowering trans women. But, this app is for men seeking men. So either make a new app for women seeking men, or add filters. It's either that, or Scruff.

I actually posted about this earlier. It started as an app for gay guys to meet gay guys but all of a sudden there are females, trans, straight guys, etc etc and there hasn’t been room for gay guys to meet other gays. The removal of a major filtered is making this an issue too. I know exactly what you mean. Trans for straight or whatever should be a completely separate app.

There are two issues at hand, the obvious fake profiles of cis women (I really don’t get that one) and various forms of trans. Some guys need to just suck it up and deal with the changing world. I’m what I like to call an “equal opportunity offender” or I suppose in modern terms would be ‘pan’ 🤷‍♂️. I like the fact that I can find a variety of people here to choose from. However, I’m much more interested in ftm than mtf, and it would be great to filter in that direction.
