The cost of Grindr
I think you should do a reduction in your prices as they are absolutely outrageous!! I've always been happy with the basic one as I dont need to know if someones read my message or not, But, if your prices were lower more people would consider it. Why not try and and be the same prices as fellow apps, or just slightly at a higher rate.

I actually did receive a response from Grindr re the insane price increase and here was their reply 😂🤣

I don't care much about the price, but to pay an expensive price and be bombarded by empty profiles without having an option to block it to protect my privacy from abusers is an abuse itself by grindr, and I'm moving away once my subscription is over.
Not to count the advertisements they put on you, no matter how much you pay, or the moral lessons they pretend to teach with their filter politics, or it being less and less gay each day. Enough is enough. -

Just posted on the Unlimited post, the cost of Grindr Xtra/Unlimited is a joke!
Here's an example in the UK:
Xtra Monthly is £17.49 vs Unlimited Monthly £34.99 – That’s double the price!Xtra 3 Months is £34.99 vs Unlimited £69.99 – Also double the price! – Also an £84.99 option
Xtra 6 Months £55.99 vis Unlimited £129.99 - £75 increase!

I cancelled my subscription when they over doubled the price, this month

And the whole “who viewed me” function is absolutely ridiculous. Every other app out there lets you review all the traffic through your profile indefinitely f

yep
it seems pretty obvious to me, the owners want to kill this app
them stripping features / functionalities away with each downgrade—in conjunction with grindR's generally-ludicrous subscription pricing—in no way entices us basic members to want to sign up
at all
especially not in this economy in which we're dealing with rampant shrinkflation / inflation!
grindR? you're shooting yourselves in the foot, for real
you know that, right?
i probably WOULD go premium with your service if it was $5/month; i'm willing to wager, many others would as wellbut you've demonstrated repeatedly, over these last 7 - 10 years, you're not interested in thinking smartly
by the way: i constantly hear complaints from your paying members, that their experience isn't much better than the regulars'
so...my incentive for "upgrading" remains nil -

37.99 x 12 months = 455.88
That's how much an Unlimited Membership will now cost. It is the price it is offering.
Notice how Grindr staff have never responded to any of the comments here? -

The price of 1-year EXTRA membership raise almost 7x of original price. That’s crazy!!!

They are losing potential customers because they are so greedy, specially on non first world countries for whom paying such amounts is ridiculous. I mean really, you have no idea how expensive it is. Steam offers differential prices over different countries and by doing so they actually sell more and get more loyal customers

at this point, we-all need to start a mass exodus from grindr
obviously, the current owners are not interested in doing what's right
we need an altruistic gay daddy billionaire (whose honour, loyalty, or integrity can never be whored out to the highest bidder) to kickstart an alternative to grindr
in the meantime..
..i am morbidly curious to see, what other app functionalities grindr can trim away from us free users in future updatesgrindr.
will you eventually reduce the number of "nearby" squares down to 9 as well?
totally eliminate our "viewed me"?
eliminate our ability to see if any of our out-going messages were delivered / read?
at the same time, will you also force on us 120- • 600-second long, unskippable, unmuteable ads — ads that play whenever we send.. ..and receive a message?at the rate you're going, none of these forecasts seem that unreasonable.

Offer a more graduated pricing structure. From free to $20 a month is a bit steep for me anyway.

you guys have massively reduced the fresh section down to only 9 people unless you pay for xtra… why do you guys want to charge for everything come on

In these tough economic times, it feels like everyone is getting the nickels squeezed out of the. Why not do something novel: create better price points for your clients. The current pricing will never deliver the way you want, but cutting full access in half would do wonders for your bottom line, and for ours too.

Grindr. The app that continuously finds ways to reduce functionality and then charges for it in ridiculous levels of premium membership. How about, offer a normal level of functions and stop taking advantage.

Spam is annoying and no spam company will want to pay anything because they know it'll eventually get deleted and it wouldn't be profitable.
Likewise, non-serious and fake accounts would also go away because of this.
Legitimate users won't mind paying $1 to use an app free of spam and filled with serious users.
And this would raise Grindr revenue for new developments and company expansion costs.

Some people can't afford Xtra let alone Unlimited so why not create 3-5 day "packs" that have a variety of benefits. One pack could have (for example) full access to "who viewed" and read receipts for messages for $6.99AUD. Another pack could include incognito and no ads for $8.99AUD and lasts two days. It gives people access to premium benefits at a more manageable cost

In a time of cost of living crisis you have increased your prices to Ludicrous amounts. At least mirror scruff. Instead these prices are far too high. They were high anyways before now they are just insulting. Grindr is full of escorts why should I pay all that money for this.

Since the recent update, Grindr is using a very cheap ploy to force users to get Grindr Xtra, by limiting fresh faces to only 9 profiles. This is one of the only known app for gay dating, and over the years Grindr has been moving the basic features of the app from the free version to the paid version. Now with only 9 profiles visible for the Fresh faces section the Grindr org has fallen down very low to force users to buy the pay version, as if the constant ads weren't enough source of income. This is outrageous! The most basic and important features already have been moved to the paid section and now they want to restrict profiles as well. Might as well make the whole app a paid thing!
