Stricter verification
I would like for Grindr to implement stricter verification for new and existing users in an effort to combat underage individuals posing as adults, bots, etc. I've heard a number of stories of men who have chatted with individuals who they thought were of legal age, only to find out upon meeting them that they're some horny teen. I'm proposing the implementation of verification measures such as ID (Government issued, driver's license, passport, etc), bank account, submitting a facial selfie with a piece of paper visible displaying a verification code, email verification, as well as changing the age requirements to make it so users must be 21 or older to join Grindr. If this is implemented, I'm hoping this sparks a new trend across the internet where sites implement strict verification measurements in an effort to keep minors off the internet.
I'd also like for all new and existing profiles be required to have face pictures of the user with a verification code displayed, with failure to do so resulting in immediate account termination. It should also be a requirement for both new and existing members to fill out their profiles as well

My friend was on Adam 4 Adam He is 56 person he was speaking to is supposed to be 19 because my friend is supposed to treat men also has a little bit of mental condition that he’s in the process cognitively person said he was in college she was 19 years old delivered to 21-year-olds and literally he topped myfriebd and 2 days later my friends life is destroyed he was in jail for 2 1/2 weeks they almost killed him for being a pedophile in the police report the police have a statement from the 15-year-old singing I was I’d like to get on the website I lied to get the sex I wanted sex arrest that me and for what he did to me and my friends life has been destroyed this is a serious problem. Why will be not taking steps to be the first to take on this problem? They were verification places that can be done everyone could be verified and on top of it all it’s the parents Responsibility but because statutory rape says that the person who sleeps with the minor is supposed to know with no way of verifying even if you got fake ID you cannot verify that fake ID even with that you go to jail not mine or more of the parents for not having their child or basically kept of the websites like this by simply securing their phones or their tablets with their computers and the websites have no accountability. Please take efforts it’s time. He has a daughter is 13 years old he’s divorced And he is not allowed to see his own daughter till she’s 18 years old because they deemed him a third level sex offender it is ridiculous with the just of system is doing but it is ridiculous to businesses are not taking care ability to make sure they’re taken care of their patrons.

To prevent scammers, I think Grindr should verify the identity by using a new live camera verification along with picture messages each person puts in the profile. There have been increased scammers in the area recently. Please take more steps to verify each person who is creating a profile than blocking accounts after people report. This would help people who are unaware of scammers to fall in trap.

This is dangerous idea and can be subject to abuse and misuse.

Is there any update about having this feature? It’s a great idea and I think it’s very much needed and it should be a simple add. Updates??

I agree with Paul. Maybe even just a 48 hour wait time for signing in/out different accounts on the same device. It would cut down on lots of monkey business. Jackd uses/used this feature, linking accounts to device IDs.

Good ideas. +1
I'd suggest 7 days amnesty is enough for the delay so people in real situations are not excluded too long from recreating their profile. -

There’s a pretty consistent horror of blocking somebody and having them create a new account to come and berate you all over again.
I believe Grindr should be a safe space, and creating a one-to-one relationship between the device and the user profile should help minimise bullying on the platform by better enforcing blocks.
Other considerations: email address verification, or a minimum phone number sign up verification step. I’d also argue that members can only have 1 Grindr account per identity provider and that deleting an account creates a 30 day delay until they can re-create it.

There should be a way to have to verify that you are in fact the user of the Instagram that you link your account to. Someone is using my pics (which is another major problem), but they are also linking MY Instagram to make them seem even more credible.

There are an unreasonable number of fake accounts, asking you to give away your personal information, I encounter 5-10 of these a week and this truly reduces the experience of using the app. Some are clearly people with poor English, many are simple bots that cannot answer the questions
Request to
1. Add option for for users to identify Fake Profile
2. As soon as 10 or more people identify as a fake then potentially
3. Account is temporarily suspended with notification with demand to comply to certain actions
4. User is asked to verify they are real, with a photo and a unique code5. Automatically recognition for repeated phrases, especially those known to be created by bots, including:
A. user has asked to visit another site for ID check
B. Suggested moving to another paid site
C. Made any reference to known fraudulent activityIf investigated and account believed to be fake
Then
A. Disable Account
B. Block Email address used to create is blocked
C. Potentially block email domain if this is used to create multiple fake accounts and is not a generic domain -

Crowdsource veracity by allowing other users to vote whether they know or don't know another profile. Actual users who meet other users would be more likely to get upvoted, new users or dummy profiles would not get up votes and would stay at the bottom.

There is another reason. There are people who change profile frequently for a variety of reasons. If I have an issue with someone, I can always block them, but if a slightly similar profile pops up again I don't know if it is the same person with a new profile. Grindr cant stop this, but if a Created date was shown it would at least alert users that this is a brand new profile and in my case, it may be the same person - what happens then is my responsibility. This would give users an added ability to detect nuisance or threatening members. This is a growing problem.

It would be nice that you create a tap for people you chatted with allowing to verify them using a series of question
1. Have you met this person (real genuine profile)
2. Had *** with
3. Information and photo as in the profile
4. Recommend to meet
5. Safe *** and with consent
Based on the answers a rating is given to the profile which is changed after verifications by 10 users (it can be as known, known as gentle, known as ****/hot, known for safe)
Also to allow to send verification requests for people whom you chatted with for the last 48 hours. Week or month (with at least 10 messeges exchanged) -

Like some other sites, a user has the option to send Staff a face picture with some sort of sign saying their email so Staff can verify they are a genuine user and aren’t impersonating and catfishing which are major issues. This is all discreet, and they can have a little Orange Tick on their profile so other users are aware they’re legit. Users don’t have to do this, but they risk a lack of interest as most people will seek genuine, verified interactions.

In my opinion there isn’t enough been done to verify people’s age, I don’t want to communicate with minors but often profiles say there 18 but in fact there 15 or 16 etc. I know in an ideal world only 18+ are allowed on Grindr but there setting up these fake profiles to entrap people into conversations with minors with an 18 age on profile and then label you a pedophile when you communicate with them. This needs to be looked at for the safety of all Grindr users, there should be no minors on this app or if they are get them to display their real age so we can avoid communication with them. I want to communicate with real people with real age displayed and not fake /minors.
