Taps optional
The ability to disable the tap feature from your profile. This way if you do not wish to recieve taps, other users have no way of tapping you.

Yes please! Taps seem to only come from bots and scam profiles now anyway, it's not even a good feature for actual people on the app either. Whenever I get a tap that is from a legit person, I'll make an attempt at talking and they give one worded replies which quickly kills the mood to make an effort to talk to them, it's a useless feature, if you have a problem with messaging a simply "Hello" cause you find it awkward, then get the **** off the app.

Get rid of taps nothing but a pain **********, at least give the option to turn it off. I don't care who sees me either why do I have to have that notice up there please pay for me so that you can see the last time the people that look at you forget it. They don't have the balls to say something let him look away. And what is with all these fake profiles I'm starting to think that grinder is making them looking for relationships they don't even know where you are when they contact you they're sending out these blanket mailings group mailings I'd like to be taken off that list. And can you get a grinder site for all the trannies and the men with ***** I'm not here looking for a woman substitute I'm here looking for a man and when they come into to me it's hard to be polite give them their own website geez

I totally support this idea - especially since so many of the taps I get are from fake profiles trying to get my phone number. This would be a great way to limit spam.

Jessica Rose --- it's conversing...conversating isn't actually a thing.

Yes please make it optional. I’m so tired of reading the cry baby comments about no taps. Make sure they cannot receive a tap if they don’t want to. Stop the crying now.

**** TAPS!!

In my entire experience on this app, the only "people" who use taps are spam bots (also scam sugar daddies). Removing this feature would decrease the number of bots that try to contact users and the number of people who get scammed by fake sugar daddies.

I definitely agree with this. I don't know what people gain from taps but if you're interested in someone on the app, then how about you have some guts and fire up a conversation with that person. How is sending someone hi or hey awkward to you instead of tapping them? This is a response to Dita and everyone else who shares this level of idiocy. People don't get offended by taps but the majority of people who use the tap feature often do it because they don't know how to start up a conversation with words most of the time, or it could be a scammer/bot. It's a passive approach, waste of a function, and I don't mind it disappearing nor do I mind it staying. It's a part of the app so I'll deal with it maturely. Don't get all in your feelings because your taps get ignored lol. There is a reason why most taps get ignored and it just so happens to be that most people who use that function are the WORST when it comes to conversing, they have very basic personalities, love disappearing after like a few minutes into the conversation, and again they could be a scammer/bot. If all you do is tap and leave it at that, then it is YOU who has no business trying to date or hookup on Grindr. Get your facts straight so you don't make yourself sound so ridiculous next time. Thank you! 😊

I would disagree. Taps are the manner of bookmarking profiles and allowing profiles to communicate in the free version if not at the top of the list. This would greatly reduce the usability of the app. Its also part of how the app was designed- if you don't like taps, you're more than welcome to use a different app.

There should be a setting to disable taps. If a used does not want to receive taps, the tap button will not appear in their profile

I get taps everyday from random guys that I know are computer generated. They are always much cuter than the average guy. With no location or stats. This is a problem that for well over a year, grindr has not been able to address. Therefore I think it would be great if grindr users could just disable taps all together. The sender could receive a reply saying ' this user has disabled taps on their account' then they can send a direct message like a real man.

You can already opt out of taps.

If receiving a “Tap” from someone bothers/offends you so much I’m afraid making a suggestion to Grindr won’t help. No forget suggestions and instead seek out some mental assistance because anyone that’s so fragile they can’t figure out how to either NOT RESPOND or take it complimentary... well let’s just say you’ve no business trying to date or hookup

certainly don't think that taps are considered lazy I just think it's kind of like a smile across the room just to see if the person is interested rather than a full-on talking to them and didn't get blown out the water
