I agree with many people that say this is a pointless feature. Many have said, what will you do with this information? It is not illegal for someone to use the features of their phone, so this check assumes mal intent. I also agree with the comments that say that there are screenshot apps it will become more popular and have increase revenues after sites and a feature such as this. Interesting to note that there are many ideas suggestions which have considerably more votes in favor of them than this one for which there is no update to suggest they are being considered

Question for all you anti-screenshot haters out there. If Grindr adds this feature to the app, and someone screenshots your pics, what exactly are you going to do about it? LMAO...

John please explain the logic behind your post about this being a horrible idea. It’s only for pictures, which not sending them kinda ruins the entire concept of a dating app.
Why would you take screen shots of a picture another user sent you anyway? If you feel you are validated in doing so then what does it matter to you if the person has been notified? Unless you’re “security reasons” are really for impersonation reasons I see no arguement this could be anything but a necessity. Snapchat, a long standing global leader in social media, has always had this feature.
It’s not preventing it from happening, it’s letting the person who’s picture, which lets be realistic it’s likely been done for reasons that directly conflict with the senders personal intentions.
I’ve had someone make an account pretending to be me. I know how much that sucks first hand. I also only this month found someone who had asked if “this was me” and sent me a screenshot of a picture i sent them a while back. This person is cyber stalking me. That’s a real legal issue and had I known he was doing this I’d have blocked him instantly.
This and user verification are necessary to prevent actual criminal activity that goes on in this app. If you don’t agree you don’t know what you’re talking about end of story.

AFTER SHAREING: A paid member should be able to delete any picture that has been shared during a chat.

Even if they disabled screen shots. Samsung devices allow this security policy to be bypassed by turning on Allow screenshots in all applications regardless of security policy under developer options. Unfortunately disabling it android/samsung users will beable to bypass it regardless.
It's like grindr dont support muti window or floating apps. But u can bypass and force it in Developer settings and bypass it

This idea is stupid. If someone is so concerned about someone taking a screenshot, then they shouldn’t be sending the picture out in the first place if it’s something they wouldn’t want to get into the wrong hands. Don’t mess with users ability to screenshot conversations, profiles, etc for safety reasons

You may detect some but not all screenshots. Some third party apps bypass permissions and notifications. If someone is TRULY determined to screenshot a pic/conversation/website/etc, there is always the option of using another device to photograph the display.

This feature makes stupid assumptions about why screenshots are made in the very first place.
Sometimes you need a screen capture to reverse image search fake accounts trying to cat fish you with random instagram pictures (happens all the time). Also, screenshots are useful to report bugs. Screenshot is an OS feature, why apps should interfere with that? You already have expiring pictures (which is pretty annoying btw).
In the meantime the most basic feature like the *chat* keeps loosing connection, sometimes do not deliver the messages in the right order and there is no way to verify your profile with a checkmark like we do on Twitter.
How about investing time on the right features instead? Posting an idea like this here will obviously have upvotes due to the fact that people want features, but you can see in the comments it's a controversial one.

First and foremost y'all need to stop showing favoritism to those who get a chance to post some body pics and not get rejected and even if they get rejected somehow their pictures still make it and I find that to be so contradictory that I think the moderators or administrators or whoever is doing this literally is just picking favorites and that's not fair for everybody

Agree but notify the person because I was drugged robbed and been hacked over the past few years due to the whores fake profiles etc! I’m going to write a book about Mazatlan, Grindr and the foreigners who promote prostitution and live out their desires for incest. Safety should be number one on everyone’s list then you can go do whatever floats your boat! I along with everyone else should and deserve to be protected from pervert scams and deceitful people and the evil men who are preying on other good people!

If this is implemented, give us the ability to choose whether or not to be notified. I screenshot sometimes as a way of keeping a record of an interaction with someone. I may need it later in case something bad happens.
