5. Open a Canadian office in Toronto, considered Chicago’s sister city. The LGBTQ life is very different & Canada often launches US products.

   Take equal marriage for example. There was a treaty between Canada and the US that said all marriages would be respected. So the US knew that Canada was the most likely to pass equal marriage first, so they focussed their efforts on getting it legal in Canada so that way it could be challenged in US courts based on the agreement with Canada. It worked and by the time the issue was challenged and reached the US Supreme Court, equal
   Marriage was made legal in spite of Bush’s Defence of Marriage Act (DOMA). There are many instances of this cross border advantage, including most Broadway productions, which launch for a year in Toronto before they ever open in New York so that the show can be tested in a similar market before it goes live on Broadway. And many more examples. Grindr needs to open a Toronto office. I used to work on contract for M4M4Sex in Toronto as the Canadian Country Director of sorts. I then moved to Ottawa to work on Parliament Hill for various elected leaders, but prior to leaving, I made particular note of the apps that were thinking by having a US market, they sufficed regarding Canada.

   Grindr should have its own look and feel for Canada in small ways, and should also focus on the French market, as well as including Canadian information in the profile options. The Canadian Government is not kind to apps that don’t do these things, and it will only get worse when the next Conservative Government is elected. You need to hire someone as a Toronto-based Country Director (not Ottawa, you won’t have enough legislative work to warrant it and it’s a quick 45 minute flight from Toronto anyway), and you need to have a plan to harness the many opportunities that Canada’s pro LGBTQ climate, who should work with whomever you hire for your Government Relations position in Washington. In actual reality, you could probably split a role like that where your US Government Relations person is actually Canadian, because it is often a lot easier to lobby the US when someone is from Canada, because our lobbies are not viewed the same way as all of the American lobbiests. Someone who works part time in Toronto and part time in Washington would make tremendous sense. I’m almost wanting to apply for the position myself as I think about it so I highly encourage Grindr to consider what I’ve said. And please do let me know if you do something like this, I may just consider applying.

   Grindr should also venture into a small production company (film and online video) and it should be in Toronto, as Canadian film credits are much more lucrative than filming in LA. There are many reasons Grindr would benefit from starting its own production company especially in Canada, but we can save that for another time. Best of luck, keep in touch!

7. Creation of the Go Up button in messages

   Every time I go up the messages to see the old messages, and choose one, when I exit the message, I am redirected to the recent messages. Usually when I want to see an old message, among dozens or hundreds, I don't get the one I want the first time, I have to look for it one by one many times, and I can't do that because when I leave a message, I I am redirected to recent messages. They could put the back button at the top like when you scroll down to see the most distant profiles instead of redirecting to the recent ones.

9. Une messagerie qui fonctionne correctement

   La messagerie est une catastrophe...il faudrait faire quelque chose car depuis la dernière mise a jour la messagerie n'est plus utilisable tout simplement donc l'appli non plus...on ne voit plus les messages non épinglés donc aucuns nouveau messages apparent .     The entire time i’ve used the app for the past half decade they’ve asked for more money for read receipts which is just laughable. You can ask for more money for genuine services that can’t be offer for free anywhere else. Everyone had free read receipts whether they realized it or not. It’s something so small and inconsequential that they’re only holding it back because it’s another thing like Tinder. Where they’ll lock up everything the app is and means to be behind ridiculous prices, expecting people who can barely pay bills (which is most of us), or people who have more important things they need then some shitty gimmicks that are so expensive and that is the ONLY way the app will work. Like come on. Be a human being for two seconds and not a money making machine. Stop profiting off of the suffering of others just because more money means that 17th personal yacht you wanted. We’re trying to make real human connections, even if it’s just anonymous sex, it’s still two people making a good time together. And in your greed and lust for power you decide to strip that away, just for the simple, and stupidest reason. so you can get more money. even though you’re already comfortable. money is to make people comfortable. not to make their lives perfect. more money won’t bring you happiness. it’ll bring momentary joy and satisfaction, then the hole in your chest opens up again and craves more. more money, more things, more. Learn to feed it with real stuff. Human connection. the feeling of doing something right, of being one of the only app developers out there who actually does what the internet was made for, to connect people and create something beautiful, not a money making mill where the product is generated by suffering.

12. Explore not working

    Anytime I use the Explore function, and use a filter, the ppl suggested are hours and 50/100 kms away from the place I am looking for...and it says 'near...'.
    So I use the 3 daily unlock for people far as hell.
    If a free feature works so badly, why should I subscribe a plan ?

14. Where is Chat Backup feature and other problems

    So this app has been out for a decade+. And it’s the only app out there that has literally gotten so much bugs, glitches and just overall plan out shitty. As of right now 2-23-24 there r glitch’s and crap all over this app. From the blocking/freezing problem, the refresh problem, the laggy chat load page that jumps all over the place and is down right SLOW, the chat message icon lights up when I send a message to someone as if I have a message/replay in my in box, the fake accounts and robots that promote other sites, takes so long to show up your off line, the read notification is done ( and people actually pay for that), the chat backup option just disappeared and the list goes on and on. It’s as if whomever is running this app is a complete moron or your company just wants to go out of business. I am very disappointed in this app at this moment and wish I never spent a single dime on it. Sniffies is where it’s at. Grinder is dead ☠️🤷🏼💯😂
