Alert me when someone has taken a screenshot of a picture I uploaded to Grindr.
AFTER SHAREING: A paid member should be able to delete any picture that has been shared during a chat.
Add this option ASAP!
To many pics are used be guys who are not the person!
This idea is stupid. If someone is so concerned about someone taking a screenshot, then they shouldn’t be sending the picture out in the first place if it’s something they wouldn’t want to get into the wrong hands. Don’t mess with users ability to screenshot conversations, profiles, etc for safety reasons
Yes this should be done be notified like Snapchat if somebody screenshot your picture!!! People have robbed my pics on here many times !! And they went on tour send them around to other people pretending to be me it's not on but I was to be notified who screenshotted my pictures I bet it woulent happen
You may detect some but not all screenshots. Some third party apps bypass permissions and notifications. If someone is TRULY determined to screenshot a pic/conversation/website/etc, there is always the option of using another device to photograph the display.

This feature makes stupid assumptions about why screenshots are made in the very first place.
Sometimes you need a screen capture to reverse image search fake accounts trying to cat fish you with random instagram pictures (happens all the time). Also, screenshots are useful to report bugs. Screenshot is an OS feature, why apps should interfere with that? You already have expiring pictures (which is pretty annoying btw).
In the meantime the most basic feature like the *chat* keeps loosing connection, sometimes do not deliver the messages in the right order and there is no way to verify your profile with a checkmark like we do on Twitter.
How about investing time on the right features instead? Posting an idea like this here will obviously have upvotes due to the fact that people want features, but you can see in the comments it's a controversial one.
First and foremost y'all need to stop showing favoritism to those who get a chance to post some body pics and not get rejected and even if they get rejected somehow their pictures still make it and I find that to be so contradictory that I think the moderators or administrators or whoever is doing this literally is just picking favorites and that's not fair for everybody
Agree but notify the person because I was drugged robbed and been hacked over the past few years due to the whores fake profiles etc! I’m going to write a book about Mazatlan, Grindr and the foreigners who promote prostitution and live out their desires for incest. Safety should be number one on everyone’s list then you can go do whatever floats your boat! I along with everyone else should and deserve to be protected from pervert scams and deceitful people and the evil men who are preying on other good people!
If this is implemented, give us the ability to choose whether or not to be notified. I screenshot sometimes as a way of keeping a record of an interaction with someone. I may need it later in case something bad happens.

There is no way to guarantee you detected 100% of screen shot (same applies to disabling screenshots - someone suggested that in a comment). You might detect MOST but NOT ALL screenshots on an Android phone, as a determined person will be capable getting the screen capture using 3rd party apps. I see no viable way of doing this with the just released web version - web.grindr.com for desktop platforms?
Next you will want to know when someone does a copy and paste in chat conversations. If I do a screenshot for my own personal records there is nothing you can do about it. However if I disclose that picture publicly you have every right to take out legal proceseeding about the DISCLOSURE not the capture. You can't take back sharing your photo. Oh wait... you can, just do a block/unblock of person and chat and photos are erased - why don't you just do that instead.
There a legitimate reasons for keep track of shared photo, conversations for example: you think the person might be less than truthful and you want to be able to prove it at a later date; you catch someones partner cheating; there is a problem in the app and emailing a screen shot is far easier way of explain it with tech support; your hookup visited you and stole something - police could sure use a face photo.
Not everyone you on the net turns out trustworthy so I see no harm in keeping a record of my hookups. I too have done a reverse image searches from screenshot and confirmed catfish profiles which I then blocked (They are blatantly fishy stories about in the military .. on deployment...picture looks like a model.)

I take screenshots of pics, map, addresses, phone numbers so I have a visual record of the person in case I needed it. It's a way of protecting myself. There are many alternstive ways of grabbing , copying , saving the screen if I had the intention of using pics to create fake accounts or whatever else. Wasted Money, time, resources in my opinion
What a silly thing this is. A screenshot can just as easily be snapped by another phone but (i) if you sent a pic or postit on the world wide web you cannot complain and if somebody takes one and it gets back to you that they did you are powerless.
They should not allow screenshots of messages and photos period!
Please do not implement the screenshot ban, sometimes, the only way to verify if someone is a catfish is by screenshotting their profile pic and doing a reverse image search. I have caught many catfish this way and also informed the Instagram accounts from which the photos were stolen!
Don't allow screenshots period.
Please reply me to my email address so that i will introduce about me to you with my details and with some of my pictures
I also screen shot for my personal use. It is also in case a fake profile blocks me before I can report the profile, I can send the pic with that included a pay web site address imbedded in the picture to Grindr.
This needs to have a Down Vote to see if it really is the majority that wants this feature. A lot of the comments are against the idea, and we have no way of knowing how many people don't like the idea.
Please DO NOT implement it without giving those of us against it a chance to vote NO on it with a button under the Vote yes button.
A screenshot is also useful if someone threatens you. You can make a record of it that can be used for law enforcement. Alerting the sender will only jeopardize the safety of others. And in the case of real predictors, a screenshot could be used to identify them by law enforcement.
If you are afraid of someone taking a screenshot anything you send or text, then don't send or text anything you are afraid of being used against you.
Okay great, so we're notified it was taken, that's it? How about the account taking screenshots face some sort of consequence? Oh right, you guys don't care. They'd just be back in a few minutes with a new account because you don't have proper verification or limits per device. Hopeless as usual.
Should I know when a screenshot was taken, Authenticator permission and information ℹ️?
